A misdemeanor is a lesser criminal charge. In Indiana, there are three levels of misdemeanor charges.
- Class A Misdemeanor: Carries a penalty of up to one year in jail.
- Class B Misdemeanor: Carries a penalty of up to 180 days jail.
- Class C Misdemeanor: Carries a penalty of up to 60 days in jail.
