These are the laws governing the state of Indiana.
Many individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Indiana Department of Corrections are eligible to have their sentence modified. A successful modification means that an individual will be modified to alternate placement, such as work release or home detention. In some cases an individual may even be modified to parole or probation- effectively releasing them from incarceration.
There are certain criteria that must be met in order for a judge to consider modifying a sentence. Because sentence modifications are a major part of our practice, we stay up-to-date on the changes to the criminal code in Indiana and our office can determine if an individual is eligible for a modification and, if they are eligible, will file a petition to have his or her sentence modified.
